Frequently Asked Questions

How do we manage several headsets across departments?

The Enterprise plan includes fleet management in the portal: every headset, its usage, and who has it. Headsets run in kiosk mode, so there is nothing for staff to configure on the device.

Does SendorVR need to go through IT or clinical governance?

It is a non-clinical comfort aid, not a medical device, and it makes no clinical decisions. The headset needs no network to run and stores no patient data. Most hospitals treat it like any other comfort item, but we are happy to support your review.

What about infection control?

The kit ships with a wipeable face cover and a cleaning kit, and the headset surfaces are wipeable with standard clinical wipes. Between-patient cleaning takes under a minute.

Which procedures is it suited to?

Short needle procedures: venepuncture, cannulation, injections, vaccinations. It is not designed for long surgical or therapy sessions.

Is there hospital-specific evidence?

The published VR distraction evidence comes largely from hospital pediatric settings, including emergency departments and outpatient phlebotomy. SendorVR is designed around that literature and has not been trialled on its own.
