SendorVR goes live in November 2026. After a long stretch of building, testing and quietly walking clinics through the platform, we have a date, a first immersive experience, and a waitlist that has filled faster than we planned for.
Here is the short version of what we are shipping, what a session actually looks like in a treatment room, how the subscription works, and what happens between now and launch.
What SendorVR is
SendorVR is a subscription platform that gives care teams a short immersive virtual reality experience to offer during brief stressful moments of care, such as injections, blood draws, IV starts and vaccinations. Sessions run about 30 seconds to three minutes, which is roughly the length of the moment itself.
It is not medication and it is not a clinical intervention. It is a comfort amenity, closer in spirit to a warm blanket or a distraction toy, with a lot more of the person's attention inside it. Staff stay in control of every step, and the care itself does not change.
The full picture of what changes in a visit is on our benefits page.
What a session looks like in a real room
The flow was designed around one constraint. A nurse with a tourniquet already on cannot stop to troubleshoot software.
- Staff open SendorVR Studio in a browser and pick an experience.
- The headset comes out of its case, charged and already in kiosk mode.
- The person puts it on while staff prepare the procedure.
- The experience starts within seconds, and the procedure happens.
- Staff end the session from Studio, and one credit is used.
No dongles, no laptop cart, no IT ticket, no training day. If your team can open a web page, your team can run SendorVR.
Bubble Friends, our first immersive experience
Bubble Friends places the wearer inside a calm floating world of softly moving bubbles, gentle sound and light hand interaction. It is designed for engagement and relaxation within seconds, not for a long guided session.
It is deliberately simple. No controllers, no menus, no tutorial, nothing to learn, because most people meeting it will be wearing a headset for the first time in their lives and will have about ninety seconds of it. Hands only, and it begins the moment the visor goes on.
More experiences follow after launch, tuned for different ages and different lengths of procedure. We would rather ship one that works everywhere than six that need explaining. There is more on how we think about matching an experience to a moment in this post on choosing the right VR experience.
The SendorVR Clinical Kit
Hardware is optional, but most clinics will want the kit, because it removes the part of new technology that usually kills it. The kit arrives ready to use on the day it lands.
- A pre-configured VR headset with kiosk mode enabled, so only SendorVR ever launches on it.
- A wipeable silicone facial interface for cleaning between users.
- A hard-shell clinical case it lives in between sessions.
- Zero IT setup, no device enrolment, no accounts to provision.
Clinics that already own compatible headsets can pair those instead. The kit comes as a one-time purchase, is discounted with annual billing, and is included at no cost on the annual Enterprise plan.
How the subscription and credits work
SendorVR is software by subscription with included monthly usage credits. Starting an immersive experience uses one credit, credits refill every month, and more can be bought at any time. That is the whole model, and it means a quiet week costs you nothing extra and a heavy vaccination week is a known number.
- Starter, for small clinics, with monthly credits, email support, session controls and usage analytics.
- Growth, built for pediatric practices and labs, with a larger credit allowance, priority support, discounted additional credits and advanced analytics.
- Enterprise, for hospitals and vaccination centers, with an account manager, full fleet and device management, clinical deployment support, and the Clinical Kit included on annual billing.
Current plans and credit allowances are on the pricing page.
Who is on the waitlist
The mix has been the most interesting part of this year. Interest has come from across every setting we built for, pediatric practices, labs and draw stations, vaccination and travel clinics, blood donation centers, dental practices and elderly care homes.
What they have in common is not size or budget. It is that somebody on the team has spent years watching the same three minutes go badly for some people, and has run out of things to try. A phone screen and a sticker chart only compete so far. Needle fear starts well before the tray appears, and by the time the person is in the chair the room has already lost the argument.
Clinics on the waitlist get first access at launch and the first onboarding slots. There is no commitment attached to joining.
What we are careful not to claim
This part matters to us, so we will say it plainly. SendorVR is a non-clinical comfort and engagement aid. We do not claim it treats a condition, and we do not claim it has been studied, because it has not been.
What does exist is a substantial body of independent research on virtual reality distraction in general, and we cover it honestly in our science section, including the trials where results were mixed or the effect was small. All medical care stays with qualified healthcare professionals, exactly as it does today.
What happens between now and November
Development and testing continue through the autumn, which is also flu shot season, so the timing is not accidental. Waitlist clinics move through a short onboarding, a demo, a plan, and a kit that ships pre-configured, so the first session can happen the day the box is opened.
We are also opening the affiliate program to people who work with clinics and want to refer them, with commission paid through the same portal clinics use.
How to join before launch
Join the waitlist from the banner on sendorvr.com, or book a short demo if you want to see Studio and a live session first. If your clinic has a difficult week coming in the autumn, that is the better one to be on.
We will keep posting here as launch gets closer, including the practical things, how teams handle people who go pale during a draw and what a calmer visit takes beyond a headset.
Frequently asked questions
When exactly does SendorVR launch?
November 2026. Waitlist clinics are onboarded first, in the order they joined, and everyone on the list hears the date before it is public.
Do we have to buy headsets?
No. The SendorVR Clinical Kit is optional and comes pre-configured, discounted with annual billing and included on the annual Enterprise plan. Clinics with compatible headsets of their own can pair those instead.
How long does a session take?
Usually between 30 seconds and three minutes. The experience is built to fit inside the procedure rather than add time around it.
Does it change how we work?
No. Staff choose the experience, hand over the headset and start the session, then carry on with the procedure exactly as before. Nothing about the clinical steps changes.
Does joining the waitlist commit us to anything?
Not at all. It reserves early access and an onboarding slot, and you can walk away at launch with nothing owed.
